4D theaters create a multi-sensory experience that is changing the way people watch movies. In 4D theaters audiences experience the rumbling of an earthquake, wind gusts on a mountain peak, or the scent of a rose. The audience is seated wearing special glasses and watches a movie projected in stereoscopic 3D. The “4D” aspect is added by special effects that involve the viewer in the action - the seats vibrate and move on cue while wind, smoke, rain and even scent can spread through the theatre.
